The spring of 1895 – exactly 125 years ago – was a significant moment in the history of Utah women. First, the Utah State Constitution was drafted to include women’s voting rights as part of the new state’s laws. Secondly, Susan B. Anthony and Rev. Anna Howard Shaw arrived from the East to congratulate the women of Utah and host the Rocky Mountain Suffrage Conference.
We couldn’t let these anniversaries go by without notice, so scholars, actors, historians, musicians and politicians gather to mark this remarkable moment in Utah women’s history.
