In this preview of their session as part of the We LEAD program to be held at NAVC Conference 2015, Donald Smith, DVM and Julie Kumble, Med, addressed the topic of women’s leadership in the veterinary profession. Women make up over half the profession but only hold around 20 percent of leadership roles within the four main areas of veterinary medicine: practice, organized, academia and industry. Find out about the factors contributing to the leadership gap and the critical elements to closing it, including best practices for promoting women’s leadership in all aspects of veterinary medicine.
