In 2018-19, The Gender Lab in collaboration with Jind District Administration executed a service learning, leadership program called Avanti Young Women Leadership Program under the banner of Women and Child development department’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao project. The Program was executed in Uchana block of Jind district for 1208 girls across 19 schools.
Objectives of the program:
To take adolescent girls beyond academic excellence to be all rounded leaders by focusing on self, internal barriers due to gender, and gender stereotypes.
Learn about leadership through service learning, and build confidence, sense of responsibility for themselves and their communities, learn to work in teams, and overcome fears.
To develop a vision for themselves to become extraordinarily successful in terms of their career and life.
Create awareness among the people regarding the social issues existing in their community through girls.
